Travelers coming in and out of Miami International Airport are in for a luxurious upgrade in lounging. American Express, known for its Centurion Lounges throughout the country has now landed at MIA. Located in the newly renovated Gate D wing, the lounge is a spin off of the four other locations including: Las Vegas, Dallas, San Francisco and New York’s LaGuardia airports. Starting June 4th, all American Express platinum members will have complementary access while all other Amex card holders can gain entry for just $50. Access allows the cardholder plus a guest and children under 18 are free to the lounge which is open from 5a-11p.m. daily.
For my savvy lady travelers, I think you’ll be most excited about the collaboration with Exhale Spa. Exhale’s inclusion in the space elevates the experience as guests are treated to complementary manicures, 15-minute massages, acupuncture, hand massages, head rubs and more. For a girl on the go, this is the perfect place to grab a quick mani, mini-massage and a cocktail before flights. (For more on Exhale Spa, click here).

Food the Foodies out there, you’ll be happy to know that Miami’s own Chef Michelle Bernstein is also in as the head curator of the lounges restaurant. Bernstein said that food served will be inspired by dishes at her own Miami restaurants, so you can expect a heavy infusion of her signature Miami flavor.
For the business traveler, this is a great place to kickback, catch up on emails and even conduct a mini-meeting before flights. Their cozy business nook is complete with Wifi, computer plug-ins as well as departure and arrival displays throughout the space so that you can keep tabs on your flight.
Finally let’s talk about a very important component that every experienced traveler has in mind- the bar! Stocked with premium labels including Johnny Walker, Crown Royal, Mount Gay Rum, Moet, Hennessey, Grey Goose and more, you’ll get your fill of tasty cocktails for sure.
For the savvy traveler that likes to get to the airport a bit earlier than usual to enjoy some of the added perks, MIA and American Express have now made it even more tempting to get the most out of your trip.
