My goodness P&G and the My Black is Beautiful family sure know how to make a lady feel special. The brand brought out all the stops at Essence Festival this year giving women of all ages a change to look and feel their best all in the name of the new, catchy campaign. The mantra #AllTogetherBeautiful speaks to women about feeling their best on the inside and looking their best on the outside. The message of empowerment resonated with each woman who came across the elaborate pop-up display at the New Orleans Convention Center and at the curated press evening which included celebrity choreographer Lori-Ann Gibson. Gibson kicked of the MBIB reception with a dance inspired by the mantra to get us on our feet and get moving. And so we did! Gibson even managed to get R&B stars Raheem Devaughn and Sevyn Streeter on their feet for a two step. Below is a tour of the experience through pictures.
After the evening soiree, we took to the New Orleans Convention center where MBIB’s footprint was equally as special. Patrons lined the entire perimeter of the booth for exclusive treatments and makeovers from famed brands Cover Girl, Clairol and Pantene. Stylists also gave tips for lasting styling way past the festival itself. Now another Vanessa, Vanessa Simmons actually, gave first timers a beauty trip inside the MBIB space. Check it out.
The most unique part of the experience was watching mothers and daughters talk about why and how the felt #AllTogetherBeautiful. You too can get in on this movement by creating a mini video telling everyone why you’re all together beautiful and as fellow lady trailblazers to do the same and pay it forward. Hands down this was #Alltogether awe-inspiring that will stay with me for a long time. Click here for the video and details.
